This study was performed to compare the effectiveness in plaque removal between rolling method and habitually set individual tooth brush method. Twenty nine medically health candidates were selected. The subjects were healthy and they all used two different oral care method by split-mouth design for 1 week. An examiner tested their plaque using Quigley-Hein plaque index before and after oral care. And we asked after oral exam, which tooth brush method do they refer. As results, there were no significantly different between the two oral care methods (p>0.05). Eighty one percent of male and 57.1% of female preferred the rolling method after they used two methods. Through this study, we concluded that the habitual method with dental flossing showed the similar effect in plaque removal compared to the rolling method. Therefore, it could be confirmed that the oral care method may choose by personal preferences.
